Trout Fishing: White Sulphur Springs is bordered by the majestic Ararat River, a favorite spot for anglers of all kinds. The River's edge is about 200 yards from your Cabin retreat and has access points along the way, as well as picnic spots for your fishing break. Like many North Carolina rivers, the Ararat River is a catch and release destination. Also, it is stocked just three miles south at Riverside Park.
Canoeing/Kayaking/Tubing: The Ararat River is a short walk from The Cabins at White Sulphur Springs and you'll enjoy access points along our property to the River. During rainier times, you'll see some higher water, but expect more of a leisurely stroll downstream. The Riverside Park (as mentioned above) is a perfect place to get in the water and enjoy some paddling (or a short canoe trip down river).
Golfing: Enjoy Cross Creek Country Club, just a few minutes from us. Guests of The Cabins enjoy privileges at the Club.
Lawn Games - Bocce Ball, Horseshoes, Badminton: Our friendly staff is ready to assist you with your next match! Enjoy activities like bocce, horseshoes and badminton on our Front Lawn, all free of charge and ready for your use.
Hiking/Walking/Biking: The 7 acre Front Lawn is home to a Walking Trail and there are spots to walk throughout the 145-acre property. Mount Airy is home to a wonderful Greenway system for walking and biking. Learn more here. Plus, White Sulphur Springs is just 8 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, where hiking trails abound. Get out into nature!
Hammock Swinging: Who says you have to move much when you are on your White Sulphur Springs retreat? Enjoy hammocks throughout the property, as well as rocking chairs on your Cabin's deck.
Wine Tastings/Vineyard Tours: The Yadkin Valley wine region is home to many award-winning wineries. Come taste why this area is growing so many great things!
